Performa - 'Somebody Say Hallelujah' ('Club Mix')

1992 - This was my first collaboration with Danny Hibrid. Released independently on 106 Records, the track became a huge underground rave anthem back in 1992. Coincidentally, Apple released a computer with the name Performa later that same year! Danny and I met when he and his partner came to the studio to record one of their Elustrious singles and we kind of hit it off immediately. I called him one day to come over and work with me on an idea I had. We spent a few days composing and mixing and the track was finished. After its release (1,000 12" vinyl copies only) and selling all the copies, we forgot about the track until one day I bumped into a Liverpool DJ from The State nightclub who told me that the track had become a club anthem! That weekend I went to the club and was standing in the DJ booth, high up in the air, when he played the track. The people went crazy. I couldn't believe it!
