Terrajacks - 'Houseplan' (24-Track Remix)

1988 - Thanks to lots of radio play on pioneering Manchester DJ Stu Allen's late-night House Music show, the original track was picked up by WEA Records who wanted a remix. This 24-track version was recorded in Square One Studios, Bury, UK, and was in-house produced by Eric Goodan & Phil Coxon. I was never happy with this rework, even though it was recorded and mixed better. I felt it lost a lot of the raw innocence of the original, which had made it popular in underground clubs across the UK. It is also the only track from the collection that I didn't produce or co-produce myself. The best part of this process was going to Windmill Studios in London and watching the 12" Vinyl Master being cut on a lathe. It was one of the most magical experiences of my life and I will never forget it! It felt like a little black circular piece of immortality. The digital experience will never give you that. If you make music, and release on vinyl, try your best to attend the cut. You will remember it forever! The track went on to feature on the Stylus Music platinum selling double album 'The Greatest Hits of House'.
